Zoning

The Stanislaus County Zoning Ordinance is intended to promote the health, safety and general welfare of the public and to implement the adopted General Plan for the orderly and controlled development of unincorporated areas of the County. Specifically, the zoning ordinance defines land use classifications,  including provisions for permitted and conditionally permitted land uses. The Zoning Ordinance together with the County's adopted Standards and Specifications identify approved standards for the development of property in each zoning classification.

The zoning ordinance is further implemented by an adopted zoning map, which is amended from time to time.
