Family Caregiver Support Program / Caregiving Resources
If you are caring for a frail senior age 60 or older, or a person with Alzheimer's type dementia, you may be eligible for services offered free-of-charge by the Family Caregiver Support Program including:
- Specialized advice, information and referrals to available services in your community
- Caregiver education and training
- Support groups
- Respite care options include, private In-Home care or limited in facility care.
Note: Also for seniors over 60 years old caring for minor (under 18) relatives, access services through the Stanislaus County links to the Behavioral Health and Resources Services, Family Partnership Center.
The program also provides for the purchase of supplemental services on a limited basis including:
- Minor home modifications or assistive devices that help caregiver accommodate illness or handicap
Family caregivers are part of a rapidly growing, very large group of people who can support and learn from each other. Using the support groups, information and respite services offered through the Family Caregiver Support Program, caregivers are able to better care for themselves, and by doing so, improve the quality and availability of care for their family members.
