Behavioral Health Equity
VISION:
A future where every individual has equitable opportunity to achieve behavioral and emotional well-being by eliminating barriers and disparities through meaningful inclusion for all.
MISSION:
Our mission is to promote hope, healing and resilience by providing compassionate, person-centered behavioral health and recovery services.
At Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), we believe that meaningful healing happens through active community engagement. We don't just value diverse perspectives; we weave the unique cultures and lived experiences of our staff, families, and community partners into the very fabric of our care.
BHRS is dedicated to dismantling barriers to wellness. We provide welcoming, compassionate recovery services designed to be equitable and responsive to the specific cultural health beliefs of every individual we serve.
Behavioral Health Equity Committee (BHEC)
To ensure we are constantly evolving and eliminating disparities for marginalized cultural and ethnic communities, BHRS powers the Behavioral Health Equity Committee (BHEC).In a true co-production partnership with our providers and the public, our mission is to transform our system by:
Integrating Culture: Moving beyond awareness to ensure cultural identity is a measurable, substantive part of every treatment plan and organizational policy.
Action-Oriented Education: Training our workforce not just on the "what" of cultural competence, but the "how"—turning concepts into compassionate, real-world practice.
Adaptive Strategy: Keeping our Cultural Competence Plan dynamic, ensuring it evolves alongside the changing needs of our diverse community.
Community Empowerment: Shifting power to consumers, family members, and cultural groups, ensuring they have a leading voice in the services that affect their lives.
Our Goal: BHEC strives to eliminate health disparities by ensuring every resident has access to behavioral health services that speak their language, honor their heritage, and respect their journey.
