Preventive Care Services

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), regular health exams and screenings can help find problems before they start. They also can help find problems early, when your chances for treatment and cure are better. Certain conditions, like high blood pressure and high cholesterol, don’t typically have early symptoms or warning signs, but can be detected by your doctor with simple tests.

By getting regular screenings, you are taking steps that may help you live a longer, healthier life. Your age, health, family history and lifestyle choices (diet, activity level, tobacco use, etc.) determine how often you should see your doctor. Under the County’s health plans, a preventive services well-check is covered every year at no cost to you!

Amwell Telemedicine

The County’s telemedicine program provides convenient access, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to a licensed physician using a smart phone, a tablet or a standard telephone. Telemedicine physicians can treat a variety of less-complex conditions such as colds, flu, allergies and infections as well as prescribe medications for the treatment of these conditions (limitations apply).
