Tenth Street Place & Assessor's Office Open
Tenth Street Place Public lobbies and the Assessor’s Office Public Counter are open. Face coverings are required and building security is monitoring and limiting the occupancy load of the building. This could cause a delay in entry depending on number of people visiting the building at the time you are there. We still strongly encourage the public to take advantage of Assessor online services and receive services by telephone when possible.
2020-21 Assessment Roll
The Assessor has announced the $55.05 Billion 2020-21 annual Property Assessment Roll which reflects a 4.93% increase in value compared to the prior roll. Certainly, our local economy, like the State and US economies, has been significantly affected by the COVID-19 emergency that began in mid-March. However, the 2020-21 roll valuations reflect 2019 calendar year events and market conditions as of the January 1, 2020 lien date, when our economy was not yet affected by events surrounding the COVID-19 emergency. If you have questions regarding your assessed value(s) you are encouraged to contact the Assessor’s office for an explanation or to request an informal review. If you are unable to resolve your concerns in discussions with the Assessor’s office, you can file a formal Assessment Appeal between July 2 and November 30, 2020, by contacting the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors.
2020-21 roll values have been delivered to the Auditor-Controller's office where tax rates are applied to the assessed roll values to calculate the tax amounts due. The Treasurer-Tax Collector will send unsecured tax bills in July and will send out secured property tax bills in the fall.
