Assistant Executive Officer / Chief Operations Officer
Assistant Executive Officer / Chief Operations Officer, Patrice Dietrich, has been serving in her current role since August 2018. She has worked for Stanislaus County a total of 30 years!
In 1987, Patrice started her career with the County at the Community Services Agency (CSA) as an Accountant. She planned to work for the County for two years, but fell in love with the important work and mission of the Community Services Agency and the County as a whole. As the years flew by she was promoted to Accountant II, and Accountant III in the department then moved to the Department of Child Support Services to work as Principal Accountant, later returning to CSA, after promoting into management and eventually Assistant Director.
The Chief Executive Office recognized Patrice's talent with an offer to fill the role of Deputy Executive Officer in 2014. Patrice gladly accepted the honor and began overseeing the County Budget. Her career focus has been primarily on County departments assigned to the priority areas of A Safe Community and Efficient Delivery of Public Services. As the Assistant Executive Officer, Patrice continues to oversee and coordinate the roughly $1.2 billion dollar County Budget and is taking on new responsibility as the County's Risk Manager, learning about Employee Benefits, Safety, and the insurances that help minimize exposures to the County organization, programs and services.
She feels very fortunate to work in an organization that provides so many services to improve the quality of life of our residents and she is passionate about making a difference in our community. She proudly works to ensure that our County administration practices and procedures are efficient and effective, that our financial systems operate with integrity and generate excellent results, that we are creative and innovative in our financing to maximize and leverage external revenue sources that will minimize exposure to the County General Fund, all with the ultimate goal to deliver the best projects, programs and services to our customers.
Patrice is locally grown, having graduated from Grace Davis High School and Modesto Junior College where she earned an Associate's Degree. She transferred to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, for a short time, returning to Modesto to attend CSU Stanislaus and graduate from there with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting. She likes to spend time with family and friends, walk her dogs, read books, and go to yoga classes. Patrice lives in Modesto with her husband, Joe, and their two children, Abby and Brandon.
