Q: |
What is an interest card? |
| |
A: |
An interest card is completed by an applicant and is filed for positions that are not currently open. For instance, if an applicant is interested in applying for Deputy Sheriff, but the recruitment is not open, he/she can fill out an interest card for the position and the card will be sent to the address on the card when the recruitment opens. Interest cards are kept on file for six months. |

Q: |
What is an eligible list? |
| |
A: |
Eligible lists are lists of qualified applicants for a position and are kept in the Personnel office. When a person participates in the recruitment process, and is given a score from an examination, his/her name is put on an eligible list in score/rank order. Then, when an opening occurs for that position, names are referred to departments from the list. Eligible lists last for six months, and may be extended to 18 months. |
