David served as a Deputy District Attorney I through V for the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, California from 1985 to 1998. From 1998 through July 2002, David served as the Chief Deputy District Attorney of the District Attorney Family Support Division in Stanislaus County. In July 2002, the Board of Supervisors in Stanislaus County appointed David to his current position of Director. David has amost 20 years in child support.

During all these years, David has been promoting the efforts of child support in various capacities. He has been an active part of almost every professional organization associated with child support to include, The California Family Support Council, The California District Attorney’s Association, The California Director’s Association, The National Child Support Enforcement Association, and the Western Interstate Child Support Enforcement Council.

David was elected twice to the Board of Directors of the Child Support Directors Association (CSDA), the association representing county IV-D Directors in California. David served as both president and vice president of CSDA, has been the co chair of the Training and Attorney Faculty Committees and serves on the Appellate Advisory and Forms Committees.

David’s skills are most widely seen and appreciated statewide in the child support training and curriculum programs. David has been teaching and training continuously since coming to child support. He has been an active part of almost every training event, including, The California Family Support Council’s annual conferences, The California Family support council’s Family Support Officer Colleges, The California District Attorney’s Association’s Prosecutors Colleges, The California Director’s Association Small County Conferences, The National Child Support Enforcement Association’s tele-talks, as well as at the Western Interstate Child Support Enforcement Council.

David has extraordinary skills in the area of probate enforcement. He is well known for his expertise and often gets called from other counties on complex questions in reference to securing child support from obligors after death. He has created extensive curriculum on this topic that is used in conferences and trainings.
