Directions
- How Do I Apply?
Obtain a Use Permit Application from the Stanislaus County Department of Planning &
Community Development. Applications can be obtained in person or online.
- How Long Will It Take?
90 - 120 days. The time to process an application will take about 90 - 120 days due to requirements of State law regarding public hearing notification, compliance with environmental laws and time to write a staff report.
- How Much Will It Cost?

- Who Approves The Permit?
The Stanislaus County Planning Commission will consider the application at an advertised public hearing. The Planning Commission will either approve or deny the application.
- Building And Other Permits?
After approval of your use permit, you may need to obtain a building permit, encroachment permit or other permit. Staff can assist you in identifying these permits.
- What Information Will I Need To Provide?
- Description of the use, number of employees, hours of operation
- Copy of the deed or legal description of the property
- Plot Plan (drawing of the project site)
- Elevation/drawing of any proposed new building
