Everyone can do something! Individuals, groups, families, and co-workers; the young and not so young, people with experience and skills, and people just starting out… There's an on-going or a one-time-only opportunity for everyone!

If you can find the time, we can find the need.

Volunteer Center of United Way

Strengthen your family and the community by joining together to make a difference today. The Family Volunteer program is designed to showcase the benefits of families working together, to introduce community service, and encourage those who haven't yet made the commitment to volunteer as a family. Locally, this year's project will enrich the lives of women and children residing at the Inter-Faith Ministries Redwood Family Center. The center provides a transitional shelter and helps address the problem of homelessness among women and children seeking a long-term, clean and sober living environment. Volunteers will be beautifying the Redwood Family Center by planting flowers, shrubbery, trees, laying sod, and installing a children's play yard. Individuals, groups, and school clubs are welcome! This project is made possible through a City of Modesto Neighborhood Capital Improvement Project grant. The Volunteer Center of United Way matches the skills, interests, and talents of individual and group volunteers with the needs of more than 250 not-for-profit organizations, coordinates the Stanislaus County Volunteer Services Program, placing volunteers in county departments, and provides opportunities that assist people in need.
