Everyone can do something! Individuals, groups, families, and co-workers; the young and not so young, people with experience and skills, and people just starting out… There's an on-going or a one-time-only opportunity for everyone!

Summit Charter Academy

Summit Charter Academy, an Aspire Public School, prepares at-risk kindergarten through eighth-grade students for success in college and is dedicated to the success of its students through empowerment, mutual respect, collaboration, and communication.

Give a child the gift of reading at Summit Charter Academy. Volunteers provide extra support and opportunities to practice reading skills for struggling readers with the Book Buddy Program and the Masters After-School Program.

Book Buddy volunteers listen to students read and ask basic thinking and context-clue questions to encourage students during 30-minute sessions in the students classrooms one or more timers per week. Flexible scheduling is available between 8:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesdays.

Masters Program volunteers assist students with academics and recreation activities from 3:15 to 6:15 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 12:45 to 3:45 p.m. Wednesdays.

All volunteers receive training and must have a tuberculosis test.
