Everyone can do something! Individuals, groups, families, and co-workers; the young and not so young, people with experience and skills, and people just starting out… There's an on-going or a one-time-only opportunity for everyone!

If you can find the time, we can find the need.

Stanislaus County Department of Animal Services

Care for underage and underweight puppies and kittens in your home as a Stanislaus County Department of Animal Services foster care volunteer. Volunteers provide a nurturing home for puppies and kittens until they are healthy enough for adoption. Animals will need to be litter box trained / housebroken, bathed, crate trained, etc., and some may also need to be bottle-fed. The Department of Animal Services provides supplies for the animals' care. All volunteers complete foster care training prior to taking an animal home and must be able to handle very young animals. The Stanislaus County Department of Animal Services shelters animals, coordinates an adoption effort to place animals in homes, conducts a program to reunite lost pets with their owners, and provides school and public education programs regarding responsible pet ownership and pet overpopulation.
