This spring, each library within Stanislaus County had the opportunity to participate and present to their customer’s, a new program specifically geared toward pre-schoolers introducing them to recycling and litter prevention.

This special story-time included reading two stories about garbage, recycling and litter. After reading, a short activity is played incorporating the litter lesson and involving singing and dancing. At the conclusion of the activity, the children were able to exchange their “litter bags” for a goody bag.

The pre-school litter program at the libraries provided outreach to approximately 200 children and their parents. Stay tuned for other topics and events in the future!
