Funding Request Procedure

Funds available will support projects for the protection, conservation, propagation, and preservation of fish and wildlife in accordance with the State of California Fish and Game Code Section 13100-13104. Individual, agency or organization seeking financial support or funding from the Stanislaus County Fish and Wildlife Committee shall adhere to the following:

• A written request shall be submitted at least three (3) weeks prior to any scheduled meeting.
  The written request shall be sent to:

  Attn: Parks Administration

  Modesto, CA 95358

• The written request shall be printed on agency or organization letterhead.
• Detailed list of items to be purchased.
• Detailed list of costs/fees. Estimates should include tax and delivery fees. Need "total project costs".
• Reason for the request and what are the benefits (i.e. benefits to the organization/community/students, learning tool, habitat restoration, etc.).
• Purchase requests for items less than $5,000 require one (1) written estimate from vendor.
• Purchase requests for items $5,000 or more require written estimates from three (3) different vendors.
• If the funding request is in association with a special event (e.g. Fish Day, Kids Pheasant Hunt, etc.), all event specifics should be included as well (i.e. date of event, times, location, etc.). An event flier can be used as an attachment.
• Indicate whether the individual, agency, or organization will purchase the items and seek reimbursement or whether it is the expectation that Stanislaus County purchase the items and then donate them to the individual, agency, or organization.
• Properly documented funding requests will be placed on the agenda for the next regularly scheduled meeting.
• Representative requesting funding shall be present at the meeting the funding request will be heard by the Committee, so that any questions by the Committee or public attendance may be answered by said representative.
• Committee will vote for or against the funding request at the meeting the request is heard.
