GRANT MONEY AVAILIABLE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT PROJECTS
The Stanislaus County Environmental Trust Fund has $5,000 in grant monies available for projects, activities, and equipment or supplies that benefit the natural environment and resources in Stanislaus County.
The Environmental Trust Fund was established by the County Board of Supervisors in 2001, to receive monies to be made available to fund projects involving all areas related to the enhancement of Stanislaus County’s natural resources. The Environmental Trust Fund has awarded over $240,000 in grants over the past 16 years to non-profit, private, and municipal applicants for use towards environmental restoration and protection projects.
Grant Project Applications are currently being accepted for qualified projects up to $5,000. Qualified applicants can be from environmental law enforcement agencies, non-profit, or volunteer organizations and award monies can be used for such things as funding restoration projects or youth activities, and purchase equipment and supplies for use in projects that benefit the enhancement of natural resources within the County of Stanislaus.
Eligible projects requesting grant monies for the purpose of funding environmental enhancement activities must relate to the improvement and/or beautification of Stanislaus County’s natural resources. Applications for projects related to environmental law enforcement must improve the agencies’ environmental investigative efforts, and may not be used to pay staffing costs.
The grant application form and instructions are available for download, and by visiting the Stanislaus County Department of Environmental Resources (DER), or by contacting Nicole Damin of the Hazardous Materials Division at (209) 525-6700.
Completed Project Applications are due by 3:00 p.m. on August 31, 2017. Proposals submitted after the due date and time will not be considered for funding. Project applications can be submitted electronically, by personal delivery, or via USPS. Applications containing original signatures can be mailed or delivered addressed to:
