The Environmental Resources Department maintains code enforcement as follows:

  • Conducts investigative inspections of residential single and multiple family units on a complaint basis. Determine housing violations which are hazardous to life or limb.
  • Inspects for compliance with state codes and issue permits for the operation of county mobile home parks, detention facilities, organized camps and employee housing.
  • Investigates complaints regarding environmental concerns such as refuse disposal, noise, dust, odors, rodents, flies and other insects.
  • Investigates and abates homeless or vagrant use of areas not equipped or approved for camping.
  • Abates the improper or illegal use of travel trailers and campers being used for permanent occupancy.
  • Performs Zoning Enforcement activities related to the improper or illegal use of property.
  • Performs regulatory activities associated with the illegal operation of businesses such as vehicle storage yards, junkyards and wrecking yards.
