Stanislaus County Supervisor Jim DeMartini has a lifetime commitment to Stanislaus County. It is where he grew up and where he has become a regional leader.

Jim graduated from Grace Davis High School and immediately began farming. His farming operation includes more than 1,000 acres between Ceres and Patterson. He grows almonds, walnuts, peaches, grapes, and row crops. He employs more than twenty people year round.

As a Supervisor, Jim represents the entire cities of Newman and Patterson as well as most of Ceres. His district also includes thousands of acres in the unincorporated area of west Stanislaus County that combine with Newman and Patterson to make up "The West Side".

Supervisor DeMartini serves on the Airport Advisory Committee, Crows Landing Air Facility Steering Committee, Economic Development Action Committee, Emergency Medical Services Board of Directors, Inter-Regional Partnerships Committee, Retirement Board, San Joaquin Valley Supervisor Endangered Species Committee, Stanislaus-Ceres Redevelopment Commission, Stanislaus Economic Development & Workforce Alliance and the Tuolumne Regional Park Committee.

DeMartini has played a leading role on several important issues during his first term in office. He has taken the lead in writing the agricultural element of the county general plan, he authored the scrap metal ordinance, and has formed a health care task force for communities on the west side to be able to work together to meet the health care needs of the communities.

Jim is a proud member of the Stanislaus County Farm Bureau as well as the Ceres, Newman, and Patterson Chambers of Commerce.

Jim has been married to Anne for almost two decades. She is a professional musician with the Modesto Symphony Orchestra where she plays oboe/English horn. When not working with the Orchestra, Anne serves as an elected trustee for the Yosemite Community College District.
